Beyond the Classroom

There is a wide range of non-curricular activities and sports on offer at Cundall Manor to all pupils.

Pre-prep pupils are able to enjoy Adventurers which involves outdoor activities, art and craft, cultural celebrations and a camping expedition. Tennis coaching is an option after school and dancing is enjoyed by many of the girls. A minibus takes children to riding lessons once a week from pre-prep and main school.

Saturday activities, which are voluntary, enables pre-prep children to embark on a wider range of sports and football is played in the winter with cricket in the summer.

Homework
Children work hard at school and often have a full agenda of activities outside school hours. This may include music, which needs regular practice, or sporting activities and clubs, which take up time after school. They also need time for relaxing with the family and their friends.

There are some areas of the school curriculum, which can be supported at home, e.g. practising spelling, number bonds, times-tables and handwriting skills, sharing their reading book or learning lines for an assembly or play.

After-School Activities
A range of activities (for Reception children upwards) are offered after school. A termly letter detailing available activities, timings and additional costs, where applicable will be issued.

Adventurers
Adventurers takes place every Tuesday from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm (for Reception children upwards). It is an activity based award scheme, which continues throughout the school. All activities are recorded in a logbook and ‘Good Deed Tasks’ are set every week.

Every pupil is involved with a tribe group and various events and competitions take place through the year.

A nominal charge is requested termly.

Saturday Activities
Saturday mornings at Cundall Manor are voluntary but offer the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm.

Pre-Prep children can enjoy football, gymnastics and swimming in the winter, whilst in the summer cricket and gymnastics take place, allowing the children to develop in confidence and skill in a happy atmosphere.

School Holiday Coaching
Occasionally sports coaching is offered to Pre-Prep children during the holidays.
