Beyond the Classroom
Saturday Activities
Saturday mornings at Cundall Manor are voluntary but offer the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities.
Art and Craft sessions allow the children to try their hand at a range of activities; these vary from term to term but have included textiles work, clay, modelling and sewing.
The Shooting Range is always a popular choice for children from Form 3 upwards. Children learn to handle a gun and shoot safely using the school’s air rifles.
The girls develop their hockey skills on the Astroturf on Saturdays and have the opportunity to develop their gymnastic skills.
Science Club offers the opportunity to experiment and investigate how things work!
Drama is available on Saturday mornings for all ages where fun is had by all!
Adventurers
Adventurers takes place every Tuesday evening throughout the year with pupils participating in Outdoor Activities, Hobbies, Art and Craft, Physical Recreations, Cooking, Technology, Emergency Aid Award, Canoeing, Shooting and Music.
During the Summer overnight camps in TeePees and weekends away, doing outdoor activities, are organised.
Every pupil is involved with a tribe group and various events and competitions take place through the year.
Each pupil has a logbook and all activities, fund raising, service areas and expeditions go towards bronze, silver and gold awards. These can be used as the foundations for Duke of Edinburgh Awards in the Upper School.
Non-Curricular Activities
There is a wide range of non-curricular activities and sports on offer at Cundall Manor to all pupils.
Main School pupils can enjoy golf on the School’s 9-hole golf course, woodwork, Judo and much more. Non-curricular activities include tennis, shooting in the School’s shooting range, judo, fencing and chess which are undertaken either at lunchtime or after school.
Adventurers is a very popular activity where children have to fulfil requirements in four different disciplines: Service, Physical Recreation, Skills and Expedition to work towards their Gold Award in Form 6.
Outdoor pursuits form an integral part of all our pupils’ education at Cundall Manor, enabling the pupils to explore the great outdoors and all the activities it provides. All pupils are challenged with walking, climbing, canoeing, sailing, shooting and camping – and achieve immense satisfaction reaching their goals.
