Music

Music is an important part of school life. All pupils receive weekly music lessons as part of the curriculum and 80% of pupils play a musical instrument and receive weekly lessons from one of our 12 visiting instrumental/singing teachers.

There are two choirs, a string orchestra, a brass group, a woodwind choir, a percussion ensemble (Samba group) and three rock bands which all rehearse weekly.

All pupils are regularly involved in performances, which include the Main School Carol Services, House-Singing competition, v

arious concerts and full-scale musical productions – these have recently included ‘Dracula Spectacula’ and ‘Oliver’.

The Chamber Choir takes part in the Stowe Prep Schools Choral Festival each February and leads the music in the main services throughout the year.
