The School Day

Main School runs from Monday to Friday with attendance on Saturday mornings, to take part in a range of activities being voluntary. We offer an extended school day which includes the full range of academic lessons and a games session every afternoon.

The day begins at 8.30 am and ends at 5 pm, though there is a supervised prep session available from 5 pm until 6 pm for those wishing to stay. Wednesday afternoons are set aside for matches and training and finish at 4 pm.

The school day has the following structure:

8.30 – 8.50    Registration and form time
8.50 – 9.10    Assembly/House assembly/Hymn practice/PHSE
9.10 – 9.50    Period 1
9.50 – 10.25    Period 2
10.25 – 11.00    Period 3
11.00 – 11.30    Morning Break
11.30 – 12.05    Period 4
12.05 – 12.40    Period 5 (Form 1 have lunch before going to period 5, 12.25 – 1.00)
12.40 – 1.30    Lunch break
1.30 – 1.45    Registration and form time
1.45 – 2.20    Period 6
2.20 – 2.55    Period 7
2.55 – 3.30    Period 8
3.30 – 3.40    Break
3.40 – 4.50    Games
4.50 – 5.00    Return to form room for end of school day
5.00 – 6.00    Prep session (optional)

In the winter lessons 6, 7 and 8 take place after the games session.
