Music

Music is an important part of school life. All pupils receive weekly music lessons as part of the curriculum and many pupils play a musical instrument and receive weekly lessons from one of our 12 visiting instrumental/singing teachers.

There are two choirs, a string orchestra, a brass group, a woodwind choir, a percussion ensemble (Samba group) and three rock bands which all rehearse weekly.

All pupils are regularly involved in performances, which include the House-Singing competition, various concerts and full-scale musical productions – these have recently included ‘Dracula Spectacula’ and ‘Oliver’. The Upper School holds an annual ‘Arts Festival’.

A composition workshop was offered to Upper School pupils, and culminated in the production of a CD.
