Upper School PSHCE programme
The sex and relationship talks were very informative and well received by our pupils. The speakers reported back how very mature, sensible and polite our pupils were, so well done to all who attended.
Next Tuesday's PSHCE talk will be to advise pupils about the different types of drugs in society and how to remain safe. We will welcome David Uffindall who is a well-known expert in drugs education.

Leckby Places of Worship Trip
On Thursday 13th November, Leckby visited Bradford as part of our R.S. programme, arranged by Mr Sladden. The aim of the visit was to give us more idea about the different faiths practised in this country and the buildings where this worship takes place.
Our first visit was to Shree Laxmi Narayan Hindu Temple. This building contained many statues and a multitude of bright colours. As we left, we were each given a chocolate, because no one was allowed to leave the temple empty handed.
From there, we went to the Hanfia Mosque. To enter the mosque, each girl had to wear a head scarf and the boys a cap. Inside the mosque we saw the Wudu washing areas.
After lunch at the Bradford Interfaith Education Centre, we visited Ramgarhia Gurdwara (Sikh). Again, there were many bright colours and some people were invited to play instruments.
Finally, the day's events were rounded off by going to St. John's Church, Bowling. This church has been extensively renovated inside, to include TVs and it even has its own rock band.
The visit gave us all insight into the beliefs and practices of other faiths, which we found very informative. We would like to thank everyone who welcomed us to their places of worship, Mr Smith for accompanying us and Mr Sladden for arranging an interesting and thoughtful day.

Strictly success!
Results came through for the Bronze Dance Freestyle Award at the beginning of the week and I am delighted to announce success all round! Congratulations to Maddi Wright, Philip Fieldhouse, Will Johnson, Sophie Foster and Alex Eadon, who achieved commendations and to Olivia Lowry who impressed the examiner so much that she was awarded ‘Highly Commended'
Mark sheets and certificates will arrive at school sometime next week and bronze medals will be presented at an end of term assembly. Well done to all who took part and I look forward to introducing the Silver Medal for Freestyle later on in the year.
