Games Kit

In recent weeks there has been an issue with games kit going missing.  We feel sure that it is not malicious but we are trying to impress upon the children that they must not borrow from or lend any kit to, another person.

To assist us could parents please check over half term that ALL kit, socks, shoes, towels and swimming costumes as well as kit for games lessons is clearly labeled.  In some cases labels have come off or have faded and therefore need replacing.  We suggest sewing nametapes onto the out side of games kit preferably with the extra large labels available from places such as Duttons for Buttons.

All children will be having a full kit check during their games lesson on the first day back after half term.

Swimming Gala

On Thursday 29th January Cundall Manor were invited to swim in a gala against three other schools at Tregelles.   There was some excellent swimming from our pupils and I was delighted with our final placing of 2nd.                                                                                                                                                                       LW

U12/U13 Netball v Ampleforth 3rds and 4ths Won 12-6 and 9-0

For many, this was their first competitive match and a tall opposition required a real application of skills to gain the advantage.  All the girls played competitively and showed much more assertiveness on the court with some good marking from Hannah Lowry and Olivia Kirby and some great dodging from Freddie Dale and Lucinda Welford Carrol.  Olivia Longstaff proved to be an able goal attack working hard all around the court as well as notching up several goals alongside Florence Lister who added one goal after another onto the score sheet.  Rosie Johnson made a good captain and really stepped up to her role.

It was a combined team effort and all the girls worked hard and really got "stuck into" the match.  Hopefully they will all have learnt a lot about the game and they will be able to put this into practice in the future.    SMW
