Drop-off/pick-up

We would like to thank all parents for their patience and cooperation at the start and end of the school day, as we all adjust to the new parking arrangements. The drop-off/pick-up system seems to be working with even greater smoothness and efficiency than anticipated!

Salcombe ahoy!

It's just 5 days to go now before every member of Leckby, Mr Chubb, Mrs Edgar and Miss Morgan-Williams will be heading south for a week of sun and sail in Salcombe. Medical forms have been filled in, kit lists have been issued, and rooming lists have been drawn up. Hopefully, all the pupils now have a clear picture in their minds of the limited capacity of both our transportation (school minibus) and our accommodation (the SS Egremont). Consequently, they should be formulating a mental list of what to bring (the bare essentials) and what to leave at home (everything else!). If there are any queries regarding the kit list, please do contact either Mr Chubb or Mrs Edgar before the end of the week. Otherwise we look forward to seeing ‘the crew' ready for departure at 9.00am on Bank Holiday Monday.

Leckby GCSE Options Evening

Will Leckby parents please also remember that we are holding the GCSE Options consultation evening on Monday 11th May. The aim of the evening is to equip you and your child with all the information necessary (i.e. syllabus content, assessment format, workload etc) to make the right choice of GCSE subjects, and we strongly urge you to join us for what we hope will be an informal but informative evening.

Play photos

The photographs of the Upper School play ordered by Mr Pern and Mrs Kearle are awaiting collection from the Main School Office. We are still taking orders if anyone would like to order photos from last's terms unforgettable production of The Importance of Being Earnest.

One final reminder...

As the exam season looms, can we please remind everyone that all pupils (GCSE or otherwise) must have the fundamental stationery and equipment they need for each subject. In particular Madame would like to ensure that all French students have an English/French dictionary at home; Mrs Hall would like every pupil to check they have a ruler, protractor, compass, pencil, rubber etc.

On the sporting front, can all pupils make sure they have the proper Upper School kit for their chosen sport/sports.

A message from the Editor...

Apologies in advance but, since the editor will be ‘on location' in Salcombe, there will be no Upper School newsletter next week. She will of course return, tanned (!?), relaxed (!?!?) but certainly armed with plenty of photographic material for a bumper edition w/c 11th May.

... and from the Head of Upper School

In Mr Chubb's absence next week, Mrs Hall will be responsible for the day to day running of Upper School. Any queries should be addressed to her.
