For catering purposes, if you have not already bought your tickets please do so as soon as possible. Adults: £15.00 Children £5.00. Please bring your tickets with you to claim your hot sandwich. The event will take place on the playing field next to the teepees. In case of inclement weather please go to the School Gym.
If anyone is able to bake some buns for Sunday they would be gratefully received.
We look forward to seeing you all there - it should be great fun!!
Note to Pre-Prep Parents
As dark nights are drawing in and the car park is very busy, please ensure children are always accompanied in the car park and are not allowed to walk on their own. Also please do not drop children off before 8.30 a.m.
Individual and Sibling Photos
The photographers will be coming to school next week to take the individual and sibling photos. They will be starting with the Nursery children on Thursday morning. Nursery children who do not usually attend on Thursday mornings are very welcome to have their photo taken, they will be done first so parents do not have too long to wait. Only children who currently attend Cundall Manor will be able to have their photo taken. Children may wear either everyday or formal uniform.
Whole School and Team Photos
These have not been delivered to school yet, once they have we will let parents know they are ready to be collected. Sorry for the delay.
Individual Music Lessons
Please would parents contact Mrs Ford directly if children wish to either change or swap instrumental/singing lessons and note that a half-term's notice is required.
Form 6 French Trip
Madame Hunzinger sent a letter home with those pupils going on the trip on Tuesday, please could parents make sure they have seen this.
D of E News
The term has started well with 17 new Eldmire pupils signed up to do their Bronze Award.
Congratulations to everyone in Thornton who completed their expeditions and presentations in the Summer. A large proportion of them have now finished their Bronze Awards and the rest are within sight of it. We were delighted that 15 of them have decided to go on to do Silver and are getting started without delay. GH
Saturday Arts/Drama Club
Ms Smith and Mrs Riddell are running Drama and Art Clubs on alternate Saturdays from 9am til noon. Last week saw the launch of the Art Club and this Saturday the curtain will rise on the Drama Club. Whilst it will be of particular interest to the GCSE Drama students, the club is in fact open to all members of Upper School. The only entry stipulation is a willingness to commit: the club will be staging at least one public production this year, (details to be revealed on Saturday!) and cast members will be relied upon to turn up regularly to rehearsals. Please come along to find out more.
Upper School Choir
Mrs Ford would like to welcome any prospective members to the Upper School Choir on Tuesday lunchtimes at 1.15pm.
Congratulations to Toby Bell who was awarded Best Batsman, Best Bowler, and Best All Rounder at Thirsk Under 12s this season.
Tennis
Congratulations to the U9 (Orange) Tennis Team who won their section of the Harrogate League. Team members were Robbie Webster, Freddie Tuner, George Fordy, Harry Tribe, Thomas House and Oliver Welford-Carroll. A certificate will be given to you all. Well Done. M-RB

Additional Date for the Calendar
‘Shake Ripple and Roll!' - Form 5 performance will take place on Thursday December 3rd 7.00 p.m. at the Galtres Theatre. Lessons will be disrupted on Monday 30th and Tuesday 1st for final rehearsals at the Theatre, pupils will be back at school for normal pick up time. Apologies for any disruptions and all help welcomed! DR

After some excellent training matches on Saturday, the rugby season got underway on Wednesday. The 1st XV proved worthy winners against Hurworth House recording a resounding 56-0 victory. The Under 11A team played well to defeat a useful Ampleforth team 26-14. Whilst the U11B team ran in an even greater score, winning 51-5. Finally the U9 Lions also showed potential as they made it a clean sweep with a 25 -10 win.
On Saturday the early season success will be put to the test win matches for the Seniors against Durham and the Juniors against Terrington. JSa
