HALF TERM STARTS TOMORROW - ALL PUPILS MUST BE PICKED UP BY 5.00 P.M.

SCHOOL RE-STARTS 8.30 A.M. WEDNESDAY 28TH OCTOBER

Whole school photographs

Mounted and framed photographs are now ready for collection from the Main School entrance hall.

Individual and Sibling Photos

The proofs for the individual and sibling photos will be coming home with pupils tomorrow.  All proofs must be returned to school (whether you are ordering photos or not) by Thursday 29th October.

Winter Uniform

Children should return to school after half term in Winter Uniform.

Pre-Prep Car Park

All Main School children who are picked up at the end of school from the Pre-Prep car park should be collected by parents from outside the Art Room.  Would parents please not collect their children until they are actually ready to leave and escort them directly to their car.  The car park is very busy and we have had a couple of near misses and as the evenings start to draw in this situation will only worsen.  Our priority is your children's safety, your co-operation with this will be much appreciated.

VIVALDI GLORIA - Saturday 21st November, 2009

Following the success of the wonderful Faure last year, we are delighted to announce that once again the fabulous Cambridge Chamber Consort will be performing, in aid of the Cundall Appeal, at St Columba's Church, Topcliffe on Saturday 21st November. Our Chamber Choir will also be joining them to sing and the performance will include a selection of choral and close harmony favourites.

The concert will start at 7.30 pm and tickets are priced at £10 each.  Wine and soft drinks will be available during the interval.  Tickets are available from the school office or on the door.

Skateboarders

We are still having to turn children away from the skateboard park for not having the correct safety gear. All children using the skateboard park must wear helmets, knee pads and elbow pads.

Cake Stall

The Friends will be selling cakes at pick-up time tomorrow. If anyone is able to make a cake we would be very grateful.

 Le Chateau

Form 6 has a great week at the chateau and, despite the rain, lots of fun was had. Highlights included bread-making, archery, rock-climbing, the assault course (I'm told mud is good for my hair and skin!). Our excursions included a trip to Mont St Michael, to the local market, a visit to the Normandy Landings Museum, a 360 degree cinema and the British War Cemetery. Congratulations go to Maddie who sang beautifully and very bravely in the talent show. Pupils really impressed me with their comprehension of French and I know the chateau staff will certainly remember us!! My thanks to Mr P, Mr Townsend and Miss Galland for their help on the trip.                                                          KH

 Fantastic Ski Opportunity

We have put a deposit on a Chalet in Tignes at the same time as the School Ski Trip (2nd - 9th January 2010) which we have not been able to fill.  We are therefore offering this to parents/families, the chalet sleeps 14 (7 twin rooms) 7 places have already gone.  It is a very comfortable chalet and conveniently located -  it is a short walk to the ski lift.

The cost per head is £700 which includes return flights from Leeds Bradford to Chambery and full board at the chalet.  This price does not include Ski hire, Ski pass or Ski school.

If you are interested please contact the school office as soon as possible.  All 14 places have to be sold.
