Book Amnesty
The library is offering a book amnesty between now and half term. Any library books - no matter how overdue they are - may be returned to the library without any fear of reprisal! The library is an invaluable (but costly) resource for the whole school and Mrs Kayll will be grateful just to have these books returned to the shelves for others to enjoy.
Summer Concert
The Summer Concert is to be held on Thursday 27th May at 19:00 in the school gym. Please note that the school bands will not be performing that evening, but will instead be playing after the Form 6 play on Thursday 17th June. All are most welcome to attend both events. WF
Sponsored Walk/Mufti day - Friday 28th May
All pupils may come to school next Friday in mufti. £1 contribution please. All pupils (apart from Thornton) will be taking part in the Sponsored walk in the afternoon, before enjoying Tea on the Lawn. Please don't forget to fill your sponsor forms. Parents are welcome to join pupils on the walk - please ensure dogs are kept on the lead at all times and any mess is cleared up.
ACE Spelling Dictionaries
Several parents recently placed orders for ACE Spelling Dictionaries. These have arrived and will be sent home with pupils on receipt of payment. Please forward payment of £6 (cheques made payable to Cundall Manor School) to the School Office/Special Needs Department. SE
HPV Vaccinations
A further reminder that there will be a further vaccination session on Thursday 27th May for any Form 6/Thornton girls who missed their 3rd appointment last month.
GCSE Art viewing
The work undertaken recently by Thornton and Eldmire GCSE pupils will be available for viewing in the gym on the evening of Thursday 27th and all day Friday 28th May. JSm
Summer Uniform
A reminder that all pupils must be summer uniform after half term. Boys' polo shirts and girls' gingham skirts and blouses are available from the Uniform shop.
Upper School uniform
Orders are now being taken in the Uniform Shop for Form 6 pupils entering Upper School in September. All orders should be placed by half term.
Whole School Photograph
All pupils should be wearing formal uniform for the whole school photograph next Wednesday (26th May). (Blazers plus: Summer gingham for girls, white shirt and tie for boys). Adventurers should also bring their fleeces in.
There will be two Upper School photographs, one in formal uniform (ties and blazers) and one ‘fun' photo. Upper School pupils are invited to bring any costumes/accessories for this from HOME, and not to be taken from the Drama cupboard.
House Polo-Shirts
Support your house with a bright and bold House Polo Shirt! All sizes available, from age 7 to adult. £15 each. Please contact Debbie Keegan direct (07909904994) to place your order.
Summer Fair - Saturday 22nd May
Thank you to everyone who has brought in donations for the fair stalls. We are still appealing for donations of sweets and chocolates for the Sweet stall; cakes, buns and biscuits for the Bring & Buy stall, and toys and games for the Second Hand Toys stall.
Please place your donations in the collection boxes in Pre-Prep and the Main School Office.
Many thanks.
Fathers' Cricket Match
Attention fathers of all cricketing ability! Please join us at the annual Fathers' match, to take place on the morning of the Summer Fair.
Start time 10:30, lunch at the School Fair, and continued into the early afternoon.
If you would like to play, please contact David Willis (07802235329) or Jonny Pearson (07811131298).
Cundall Gardeners
Please come and visit our stall a the Summer Fair - all plants have been grown by members of the gardening club. VW
Scarecrow Competition
Scarecrows to be left outside the front of the Music block, clearly named, to be judged on Saturday.
Tesco Sports and Schools Vouchers
A huge thank you to all families who are donating their green Tesco vouchers. These have proved invaluable in previous years and have funded relay batons, athletics measuring tapes, shot, hockey goalkeeper's bags, netball bags and other sports equipment. Please keep those vouchers rolling in!
